Dawg gone! 'American Idol' disses Randy Jackson with barely a farewell
Fri May 17, 2013
I felt the tribute to Randy was a little short. I would much rather have seen a longer piece on Randy and less yakking with family and friends of the contestants. The whole show was lackluster compared to past years. A 2 hour show and they still went over by at least 5 minutes.
The third JC Penney makeover: Ousting CEO Ron Johnson
Mon Apr 8, 2013
I hate the new layout of their store. I asked a clerk working in a dress dept where the ladies sports wear was located. She said, "I don't know, that's not my department." I walked across the aisle and found the sports wear...not 10 feet from where the clerk was standing. I've almost given up on JCP …
Two N.J. men sue Subway over missing inch
Wed Jan 23, 2013
These men are on to something BIG! When this lawsuit is over, they're going to sue all the lumber companies, home improvement stores and probably the loggers, because a 2 by 4 isn't really 2" x 4".
Passerby hears screams, finds missing 5-year-old girl
Tue Jan 15, 2013
I haven't read all of the comments, so my question may have already been addressed. Doesn't a 5 year old girl recognize her mother, regardless of what the mother is wearing? A teacher, or someone at the school, must have said something to the child, such as, "your mother is here to pick you up". I j …
Delaware parents accused of locking up son in bare room for 3 months
Thu Nov 29, 2012
We hear this type of story all too often. I always wonder why a relative, a teacher, a neighbor, the parents friends, aren't suspicious or curious as to why they haven't seen the child. Don't the parents ever have visitors or someone asking about the whereabouts of a child? And are the other sibling …
Texas teacher reportedly duct taped student's mouth shut
Fri Nov 2, 2012
I don't agree with the duct taping by the teacher. That's a very poor method of disciplining a kid. I remember in 4th grade my teacher throwing a book at a dozing student. Our principal hung a boy by his overall straps in the coat closet. Looking back, neither action was appropriate. But no one ran …
Bourdain gets roasted, has no regrets on Paula Deen comments
Fri Oct 12, 2012
This is one of the silliest things I've read in a long time. Everyone has a tv remote. Use it. If you like cooking shows (I don't), watch what you're interested in and turn off the rest. No one is making you actually cook the stuff. I wish the Today Show and Good Morning America would quit showing t …
'They just decked the bride': Wild wedding melee caught on camera
Sun Oct 7, 2012
I'm glad I'm from the "old days". Married in the church, reception in the church basement, complete with cake, punch and mints and a multitude of great memories.
GE recalls 62,000 clothes washers after reports of basket breaking loose
Wed Oct 3, 2012
I have friends who've purchased the fancy front loading washers. They paid 3 times what I paid for my top loader. And you know what? Their clothes don't look or smell any better than mine.
Should you fire your doctor? 4 signs to watch
Sun Sep 9, 2012
I can't believe that a female MD, in this day and age, hear these sexist comments. I'm an older woman that is now a breast cancer survivor of 9 years. All of my doctors, except my surgeon, are women. I thank my lucky stars every day that I had such wonderful care from all of them.

Baby bikini onesie: Funny or infuriating?
It's harmless fun, plus it's cute. Lighten up!
Good grief. Some people must look in the mirror every morning and ask, "What can I complain about today". And this cute little piece of infant wear is what you came up with? Infant boys better not wear a Spiderman picture on their onesy, because a lot of women think Spiderman is really HOT.
Majority of dads say they do the grocery shopping
Obviously, you hang with an unusual group of women. :) I don't know any men that cook, or at least admit to it. I can count on my 10 fingers the meals my husband of 49 years has ever prepared. And forget grocery shopping. He thinks bread is still .89 a loaf and hamburger .99 a pound!
I'm not sure how accurate this survey is. I've always done the grocery shopping and I see very few men there. I do see more couples than in years past. I'd hate to see what we'd have to eat if my husband did the shopping. Beer, bread and ice cream are not ingredients for a meal.
